Penang Police Finalising Probe Into Alleged Assault By State Assemblyman On Wife

Date:

Penang police are finalising their investigation into allegations that a state assemblyman assaulted his wife in an incident on Saturday.

Penang police chief Datuk Dennis Lim Kwang Keng said the case was being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which concerns voluntarily causing hurt.

He said police had recorded statements from four individuals, including the husband and wife involved, as well as their family members.

“We are currently completing the investigation. As for the injuries sustained by the victim, we will seek confirmation from medical experts,” he told a press conference at the Penang police contingent headquarters today.

Dennis Lim also described the incident as a family matter, saying it did not need to be made public.
