Two Men Flee Police Check, Crash Into Car And Police Vehicle In Kajang

Date:

Two men attempting to evade a police check ended up crashing their Proton Wira into a Perodua Ativa and a police patrol vehicle along Jalan Semenyih near the Kajang Prima traffic lights on Friday.

The incident occurred at about 3.25pm when personnel from the Kajang District Police Headquarters’ Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division were conducting patrols in a Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV).

Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said the officers attempted to stop the two men and check their identification documents.

However, the suspects allegedly sped off in the Proton Wira towards Kajang.

“During the escape, the vehicle collided with a Perodua Ativa before crashing into the police MPV, damaging the front right door,” he said in a statement today.

No members of the public or police personnel were injured in the incident.

Police are now working to identify and track down the two suspects, including by obtaining footage from closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and dashboard cameras, as well as statements from witnesses.

The case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant in the discharge of their duties.

Anyone with information is urged to contact investigating officer Sergeant Mohd Azlan Zulkiflee at 017-316 1138 or the nearest police station.
