Anwar Shows Off Musical Side At BRICS With Spontaneous Bollywood Song At BRICS Gala

Date:

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stole the spotlight at the BRICS gala dinner in New Delhi when he spontaneously performed a classic Bollywood song by legendary Indian singer Kishore Kumar.

Anwar sang “Khwab Ho Tum Ya Koi Haqeeqat” during the dinner hosted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

He later shared a recording of the performance on X, saying he had first sought permission to sing a song for a moment.

The impromptu performance added a lively touch to the gala, which brought together leaders and delegations from BRICS member countries.

Anwar’s relaxed appearance also offered a glimpse of his lighter side amid a packed schedule of diplomatic engagements and high-level discussions during the event.

“Khwab Ho Tum Ya Koi Haqeeqat”, which translates roughly as “Are you a dream or a reality?”, is one of Kishore Kumar’s popular songs and remains among the memorable works of the Bollywood music legend.

Anwar’s choice of the classic song added a distinctive cultural touch to the gathering and helped create a more convivial atmosphere among the world leaders.

The performance captured a rare informal moment for Anwar at an international event, offering a stark contrast to his usual role at formal diplomatic engagements.
