Four factories were destroyed in a major fire at Jalan TPP 5/15, Taman Perindustrian Puchong, early on Thursday morning.
The blaze destroyed about 90% of the structures involved, but no injuries or fatalities were reported.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 6.34am before the first fire engines were dispatched to the scene.
He said firefighters from the Puchong Fire and Rescue Station arrived at about 6.45am and found flames raging through a furniture factory.
“Further checks found that the fire had spread and involved four factories, comprising a tyre factory, a plumbing and valve hardware factory, a furniture factory and an engineering factory.
“All four premises were estimated to have been about 90% destroyed,” he said in a statement.
Ashrul Riezal said firefighters managed to bring the blaze completely under control about two hours after arriving at the scene.
