Thirty areas nationwide recorded unhealthy air quality readings above 110 as of 11am today, according to the Department of Environment (DOE).
Data from the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) showed Tasek in Ipoh, Perak recorded the highest Air Pollutant Index (API) reading at 185.
Seri Manjung in Perak followed with a reading of 181, while Sungai Petani in Kedah and Pegoh in Perak each recorded 160.
Johan Setia in Selangor recorded an API of 158, while Seberang Jaya and Minden in Penang, Taiping in Perak and Kuching in Sarawak each recorded 156.
Cheras in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Nilai in Negeri Sembilan and the Serian district police headquarters in Sarawak each recorded 155.
Batu Muda in Kuala Lumpur recorded 154, while Seberang Perai in Penang, Shah Alam in Selangor, Batu Pahat in Johor, Jerantut in Pahang and Kuala Terengganu each recorded 153.
Tanjung Malim in Perak recorded 152, followed by Bukit Rambai in Melaka at 149, Kluang in Johor at 146, Banting in Selangor at 142 and Seremban in Negeri Sembilan at 138.
Melaka City recorded 134, while Petaling Jaya in Selangor recorded 121. Kulim Hi-Tech in Kedah recorded 118, followed by Alor Gajah in Melaka at 117, Tangkak in Johor at 114 and Segamat in Johor at 112.
Meanwhile, 31 areas recorded moderate API readings ranging from 51 to 100.
Klang in Selangor recorded the highest moderate reading at 99, followed by Kuala Selangor at 96, while Balik Pulau in Penang and Temerloh in Pahang each recorded 95.
Kemaman and Besut in Terengganu each recorded 94, while Indera Mahkota in Kuantan, Pahang recorded 92. Paka in Terengganu and Kota Bharu in Kelantan also recorded 92.
Balok Baru in Kuantan, Pahang and Tanah Merah in Kelantan each recorded 91, while Larkin and Pasir Gudang in Johor recorded 90.
Other moderate readings were recorded in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan (84), Alor Setar, Kedah (83), Rompin, Pahang (81), Sri Aman, Sarawak (80), Langkawi, Kedah (71), and Kangar, Perlis and Kota Tinggi, Johor, both at 70.
Pengerang in Johor recorded 69, followed by Bintulu in Sarawak at 62. Tawau in Sabah and Sibu in Sarawak each recorded 61.
Samalaju in Sarawak recorded 58, while ILP Miri and Miri each recorded 54. Labuan recorded 53, while Kimanis in Sabah and Limbang in Sarawak each recorded 52.
Samarahan in Sarawak recorded 100, placing it at the upper limit of the moderate category.
Six areas recorded good air quality, with Sarikei in Sarawak registering 50, followed by Politeknik Kota Kinabalu in Sabah (46), Keningau in Sabah (45), Kapit in Sarawak (39), Sandakan in Sabah (37) and Kota Kinabalu in Sabah (30).
