Several areas in Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Sabah are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds until 1pm today, according to a weather warning issued at 10am.
In Negeri Sembilan, the affected areas are Port Dickson, Seremban and Rembau.
In Melaka, the warning covers Alor Gajah and Melaka Tengah.
Meanwhile, in Sabah, the affected areas are Tuaran, Putatan, Kota Kinabalu and Penampang in the West Coast division.
The warning, issued for Tuesday, Sept 22, is triggered when thunderstorms with rainfall exceeding 20mm per hour are detected or expected to occur for more than an hour.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department said thunderstorm warnings are short-term alerts, with each warning valid for no more than six hours from the time of issuance.
The latest warning was issued at 10am today and remains valid until 1pm.
