Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh is expected to announce the dissolution of the Melaka State Legislative Assembly (DUN) during a special press conference at 2pm today.
The press conference will be held at the Seri Negeri Auditorium, Block Laksamana, with an invitation issued by the Chief Minister’s press secretary to members of the media.
However, the invitation did not specify the agenda or details of the announcement to be made by Ab Rauf.
The development has fuelled speculation that the Chief Minister could announce the dissolution of the Melaka DUN, paving the way for a state election.
If the dissolution is confirmed, the next step would be for the Election Commission (EC) to set the election dates in accordance with the relevant laws.
