Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has confirmed receiving a written notice from the Registrar of Societies (RoS) concerning the status of Perikatan Nasional (PN).
Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the notice, dated Sept 23, was received by the party on Wednesday evening.
“Bersatu has received a written order from RoS dated Sept 23 this afternoon,” he said when contacted on Wednesday night.
Mohamed Azmin, who is also Hulu Kelang assemblyman, said Bersatu would first study the contents of the notice before making any further statement.
Asked whether the document contained matters beyond the issue concerning PN’s status, he declined to elaborate.
He also said he was unaware of reports claiming that PN would hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday night.
The development comes after a screenshot purportedly showing an RoS notice concerning the cancellation of PN’s registration was circulated on social media.
The notice, dated Sept 22, 2026, was reportedly understood to give the PN chairman 30 days to submit a representation to RoS.
RoS had earlier confirmed receiving an official complaint from Bersatu on Aug 11 concerning, among other matters, the party’s alleged exclusion from the PN Supreme Council meeting on July 16 and questions surrounding its membership status in the coalition.
