Police in Buenos Aires are investigating the horrific murder of three women, whose torture and killings were streamed live on a private TikTok group. Authorities say around 45 people witnessed the gruesome acts, which included the amputation of one victim’s fingers and the suffocation of another with a plastic bag.
The victims have been identified as 15-year-old Lara Gutierrez, Brenda del Castillo, 20, and Morena Verdi, 21. Investigators say the women were accused by a narco gang of stealing cocaine and were lured to a “horror house” on the outskirts of the city, approximately 20 miles from their homes.
Buenos Aires security minister Javier Alonso confirmed that the killings were broadcast to a closed online group, with the gang leader reportedly using the murders as a warning to others: “This is what happens if you steal drugs from me.”
The women were last seen on Friday night voluntarily entering a vehicle after being invited to an event, unaware that it was a trap. Their bodies were discovered five days later buried in the garden of the house, which authorities say served as the operational site for the gang’s crimes.
Police have made four arrests so far, including three Argentinians aged 18, 19, and 28, and a 27-year-old Peruvian. Investigations continue to apprehend other suspects involved in planning and executing the murders.
Details of the killings reveal extreme brutality: Lara Gutierrez reportedly had all five fingers on her left hand cut off, Brenda del Castillo suffered a skull fracture and abdominal injuries, and Morena Verdi was asphyxiated with a plastic bag. The victims were reportedly tricked into attending a party under the promise of payment.
A Buenos Aires prosecutor described the case as “the most sordid and horrifying” they have encountered. Family members have appealed for information, emphasizing the senseless cruelty and the young age of the victims.
