The discovery of a woman’s body inside a pickup truck near the Diamond Square business area in Setapak on Tuesday is not linked to any criminal element.
Wangsa Maju District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Lazim Ismail, said the individual in the vehicle was a 58-year-old non-Malaysian woman.
According to her son, the woman had not returned home for about a week. “A physical examination of the woman and the scene found no signs or elements of crime,” he said in a statement today.
A post-mortem was carried out at 9 a.m. on Wednesday but the cause of death has yet to be determined.
The woman was not the owner of the pickup truck, which had been stationary and unlocked since April.
“The case has been classified as sudden death (SDR),” he added.
Earlier, media reported that the body had been found in a pickup truck near the business area. It was understood the discovery was made after the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) was called to assist in opening the vehicle’s door.
