A man in his 20s was killed after the Perodua Myvi he was driving crashed into the rear of a container lorry parked by the roadside in the Alam Awana Industrial Area, Puncak Alam, on Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred at about 8.14am, leaving the driver trapped in his seat with severe head injuries.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said seven firefighters from a nearby fire and rescue station were dispatched to the scene and arrived at 8.28am.
He said the accident involved the Myvi and a container lorry parked along the roadside.
“Checks found that the driver was trapped in his seat and unconscious due to severe head injuries,” he said today.
Firefighters carried out an operation to extricate the victim before handing him over to Health Ministry personnel.
However, the victim was pronounced dead by medical personnel, and his body was subsequently handed over to the police for further action.
