A 40-year-old motorcyclist was killed after a falling tree crushed him along Jalan Air Lanas-Gemang in Jeli, Kelantan, at about 8am on Wednesday .
The victim, Mohd Alia Sabri Mat Repin, was riding a Honda Wave when the incident occurred. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a Health Ministry medical officer.
Jeli Fire and Rescue Station chief Mohd Adni Ibrahim said the department received an emergency call at about 8.05am, prompting 10 firefighters to rush to the scene.
“Upon arrival, firefighters found the victim trapped beneath the tree, which had fallen onto his motorcycle,” he said when contacted today.
The victim’s body was subsequently handed over to the police for further action.
