Putrajaya MP Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin has urged authorities to speed up their investigation into a chicken processing facility in Puchong, where live chickens were allegedly immersed in hot water until they died before being slaughtered.

He also called on the authorities to publicly disclose the name of the company operating the premises, stressing that consumers, particularly Muslims, have the right to know where their food comes from.
Radzi said the issue was especially concerning because the processed chicken was believed to have been distributed to restaurants, grocery shops and supermarkets across the Klang Valley.
“I am still waiting for the authorities to reveal the name of the company operating the chicken processing facility raided in Puchong.
“The chickens were allegedly processed by immersing live birds in hot water until they died before being slaughtered,” he said in a Facebook post today.
He added that the public deserved full information, including the operator’s identity, company name, exact location of the processing facility, distributors and the destinations where the raw chicken was supplied or sold.
Authorities had earlier disclosed that the processed chicken was distributed to Damansara, Bangi, Puchong, Cheras, Putra Perdana and Putrajaya.
Kosmo! previously reported that more than 6.5 tonnes of raw chicken suspected of being processed without complying with Islamic slaughtering requirements and halal certification standards had been seized during a raid at a warehouse in Puchong.
The raid was conducted around midnight two days ago under Op Taring Chiller, with 12 Bangladeshi and Pakistani men arrested over their alleged involvement in slaughtering and processing activities at the premises.
Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department Wildlife Crime Bureau/Special Investigation Intelligence Commander Datuk Mohd Zaki Ashar was reported as saying that inspections found the chickens were allegedly immersed in hot water until they died before being slaughtered.
He said the handling and slaughtering procedures at the facility raised serious questions about compliance with Islamic requirements and the halal status of the products.
