KPDN Probes Selangor Petrol Station Over RON95 Fuel Allegedly Mixed With Water

Date:

The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) has launched an investigation into claims that a petrol station in Batu 14, Selangor, sold RON95 fuel allegedly mixed with water.

KPDN Selangor director Muhamad Hanif Asa’ari confirmed that the ministry received a complaint about the station on Oct 19 and immediately dispatched a team of officers to investigate.

He said three cans of RON95 petrol samples were collected from pump number three for laboratory analysis by the Chemistry Department to determine whether the fuel contained the alleged mixture.

“KPDN Selangor received the complaint at 11.53am, and a team of officers was sent to conduct an investigation.

“Three cans of RON95 petrol samples were taken from pump number three to be sent to the Chemistry Department for analysis to verify the alleged presence of contaminants,” he told Berita Harian today.

Muhamad Hanif said an inquiry paper had been opened to investigate the complaint, adding that the ministry was taking the matter seriously.

The petrol station operator was also advised and warned to ensure fuel quality and comply with all regulations.

The investigation follows a viral post on Threads by a motorist who claimed to have purchased RON95 petrol allegedly contaminated with water at the station.

Previously, Muhamad Hanif said KPDN had received 10 complaints involving suspected water contamination at seven petrol stations across Selangor.
