15-Year-Old Student Killed In Four-Vehicle Crash On KL-Seremban Highway

Date:

A 15-year-old school student was killed after the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a crash involving three motorcycles and a car on the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway early on Sunday morning.

Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said the accident occurred at about 2.50am at KM301.5 of the highway.

He said preliminary investigations found that a SYM motorcycle had allegedly crashed into the rear of a Perodua car travelling straight along the road.

“The impact caused the motorcycle to fall onto the road, where it was subsequently hit by two other motorcycles approaching from behind in the same lane,” he said in a statement.

The 15-year-old rider, who was a school student, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other motorcyclists, aged 22 and 20, were injured and are receiving treatment in the emergency ward at Hospital Serdang. Both are reported to be in stable condition.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Anyone with information about the accident is urged to contact investigating officer Inspector Ahmad Zahrein Muhd Suod at 017-381 8422.
