Police have arrested three people, including two women, to assist investigations into the suspected murder of an elderly man believed to have been beaten to death in Negeri Sembilan.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the suspects, comprising a man and two women aged between 28 and 34, were related to the victim and believed to have been involved in the incident.
He said police received a report at 10am today concerning a viral TikTok video showing the man, believed to be in his 60s, allegedly being abused by several individuals.
“The victim was reported to have died on the evening of Oct 4.
“Following the report, police launched an investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” he told reporters here on Thursday.
The video circulating on TikTok showed a man repeatedly striking the back of an elderly wheelchair-bound man with a rubber hose after the victim allegedly refused to eat food being fed to him.
The incident is believed to have taken place in Rasah Jaya, Seremban.
It was also learnt that the victim’s funeral arrangements had been halted after his body was taken for a post-mortem examination as part of the investigation.
Alzafny said police had seized several items, including the rubber hose allegedly used to assault the victim, a wheelchair, mobile phones and clothing worn during the incident.
