Caprice Threatens Police Report Over Viral TikTok Post Linking Him To Alleged Insult Against Agong

Date:

Malaysian rapper Caprice has threatened to lodge a police report after accusing a TikTok account of spreading defamatory claims linking him to an alleged insulting remark about the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

The controversy erupted after the account published a post claiming Caprice had shared a copy of the King’s decree concerning Najib Razak on his Instagram Story, accompanied by a caption allegedly insulting the royal institution.

The TikTok post also included two screenshots purportedly showing the Instagram Story before it was deleted and later uploaded again without the alleged caption.

However, Caprice, whose real name is Ariz Ramli, has denied the claims and described the content as defamatory.

In an explanation video uploaded to his Instagram account yesterday, he alleged that the same TikTok account had targeted him with similar defamatory content on three separate occasions.

“This is the third time this account has defamed Caprice.

“This is called sedition. I don’t know how crazy, how mental you have to be to make this kind of content,” he said.

Caprice described the matter as serious and said he was on his way to a police station to lodge a report.

“But this is sedition, this is playing with fire.

“Cap is on the way to the police station to make a police report, but we will find you. We will find out who is behind this account,” he said.

He also vowed to identify those responsible for creating, writing and uploading the allegedly defamatory content.

“And whoever created this content, whoever typed it and uploaded it to this account, God willing, we will find you,” he added.
