The body of a 92-year-old man who was reported missing since yesterday in Kampung Sogoh was found this morning in the Kadamaian River, Kampung Piasau, about 20 kilometers from the last location where he was believed to have disappeared.
The deceased, identified as Sani Giau, was discovered by members of the public at around 7.43am along the riverbank before the Fire and Rescue Department was alerted.
Kota Belud Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Elge Bakuk, said the search and rescue (SAR) operation entered its second day today, beginning at 7am.
“The rescue team received information about the discovery of the victim, who was confirmed dead and believed to be the man reported missing,” he said.
