Motorcyclist Dies After Slamming Into Lamp Post At Bau

Date:

A man tragically died after his motorcycle skidded and collided with a lamp post at KM17, Kampung Tanjung Bowang, along Jalan Singai-Sagah in Bau on Sunday, October 5.

Bau District Police Chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman confirmed that the accident, involving a Yamaha 135LC motorcycle, occurred at approximately 4:48pm.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the rider, travelling from Musi towards Kampung Singai, lost control of the motorcycle, skidding onto the left shoulder of the road before crashing into a metal streetlight pole,” he said in a report yesterday (Oct 6).

The force of the impact threw both the rider and his motorcycle into the grassy area beside the road, where paramedics from Bau Hospital later confirmed his death.

Police have classified the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and are urging any witnesses to contact the nearest police station to assist with the investigation.
