Penang Insurance Agent Found Dead in Suitcase After Mysterious Disappearance

Date:

Daniel Lee Boon Han, 31, a Penang-based insurance professional and digital content creator, has been missing for over a day. Authorities were alerted after a cleaner discovered a suitcase containing a body in the jungle area behind a flat. Lee’s family has been called to the Taiping mortuary to assist with identification.

Lee reportedly messaged his mother around 1 a.m. Wednesday, saying he was heading to Perlis and might return late or the next day. However, by midday, he had lost all contact with family and friends. Phone calls went unanswered, and no messages were received through his social media or group chats. Lee’s family suspects the initial message may not have been sent by him.

At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a grey shirt and black trousers and driving a grey Toyota Vios with the license plate PPP3135.

A graduate in chemistry, Lee was a successful insurance team manager with numerous awards. He also ran a digital content channel featuring young entrepreneurs in Penang and served on the youth committee of the Penang Lee Clan Association. Authorities have yet to confirm the identity of the body found.
