4WD Owner Defends Hebrew Sticker: “Just Love Foreign Scripts, No Political Message”

Date:

A 59-year-old retired civil servant whose 4WD vehicle went viral for displaying a Hebrew sticker explained that the decal reflects his interest in foreign scripts, said Melaka Police Chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar.

The man claimed the Hebrew phrase, meaning “Malaysia My Home,” has been on his Isuzu since 2012 without issue and denied any support for Israel. He filed a report at Air Kuning Selatan Police Station in Gemencheh, Negeri Sembilan, after the video circulated on social media platform Threads, attracting criticism.

Datuk Dzulkhairi added that the retiree, who enjoys Russian, Greek, and Hebrew scripts, insisted the sticker was ordered from a shop in Selangor and used mainly by his younger sibling. Authorities will consult language experts to verify the phrase’s meaning and continue investigations under Section 504(b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. No orders have been issued for the sticker’s removal.
