23-Year-Old Driver & Teen Passenger Die After Vehicle Skids Off Highway Plunging Into Ravine

Date:

Two men, including a teenager, were killed after their car skidded off the road and plunged into a ravine at Kilometer 301.2 of the Kuala Lumpur–Seremban Highway, heading towards the capital, early Friday morning.

Kajang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan said the incident was reported around 1:45 a.m.

“Initial investigations found that the crash occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and fall into a ravine nearby. The 23-year-old driver, who worked in the private sector, and a 16-year-old male passenger were pronounced dead at the scene,” he said in a statement on Friday.

Two other passengers — a man and a woman, both in their 20s — sustained injuries to their legs and arms and were taken to Serdang Hospital for further treatment.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.

Police have urged witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Narolhisyam Endi, at 019-5897115 to assist in the investigation.

“Motorists are reminded to always obey traffic rules, drive responsibly, and exercise extra caution, especially when navigating hilly or winding roads,” Mohd Zaid added.
