Budget 2026: E-Invoicing And Stamp Duty Self-Assessment To Be Fully Rolled Out in 2026

Date:

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Dato’ Sri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the e-invoicing initiative will be fully implemented in 2026.

He also revealed that the Stamp Duty Self-Assessment System (STSDS) will be launched alongside it to ensure compliance.

The announcement was made today in the Dewan Rakyat during the presentation of the 2026 Budget.

With the revision of the Stamp Duty Act, both businesses and individuals will be required to adhere more strictly to compliance rules. The new law introduces a self-assessment system, where taxpayers must calculate and declare stamp duty themselves instead of relying on tax authorities. Failure to comply, miscalculations, or unstamped documents could result in severe penalties.
