Mising Penang Insurance Agent Found Stuffed In Suitcase, Police Discover His Car 450m Away

Date:

Police have found a Toyota Vios believed to belong to a man who was brutally murdered and whose body was stuffed inside a suitcase and dumped behind an apartment complex at Ampang Jajar, Jalan Permatang Pauh, yesterday evening.

The vehicle, bearing registration number PPP3135, was located about 450 meters from where the body of the victim, Lee Boon Han, 31, was discovered.

Lee was believed to have been driving the car before he was reported missing by his family on October 8. The discovery of the vehicle is now a crucial lead for investigators in their efforts to track down the suspects involved.

Police have also obtained CCTV footage from a nearby waste transfer station to assist with the investigation.

Earlier reports confirmed the victim’s identity as Lee Boon Han, who was found inside a suitcase with his throat slit and hands tied. The gruesome discovery was made by a drainage maintenance worker at around 1:40 p.m., who immediately alerted the authorities.

Family members identified the body at the Seberang Jaya Hospital (HSJ) forensic unit around 9 a.m. this morning. They later brought Lee’s remains to the United Hokkien Funeral Home in Paya Terubong for funeral rites before cremation at the Batu Gantung Crematorium this Sunday.

Meanwhile, Penang Police Chief Datuk Azizee Ismail said a post-mortem report from Penang Hospital (HPP) confirmed that the cause of death was asphyxiation (lack of oxygen).

“Police are investigating whether the victim was killed elsewhere before being wrapped and placed inside the suitcase, which was then dumped at the scene. Efforts to track down the suspects are ongoing,” he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
