Man Struck by Lightning Twice Claims He Can Predict Storms

Date:

A man from Kentucky, USA, has experienced the unimaginable: he was struck by lightning twice in his life — once in 2007 and again in 2023 — and now claims he has gained the ability to predict storms days in advance.

According to reports, Danny Devine, 66, was first struck in 2007 while hosting a pool party for his grandson’s birthday. A sudden storm rolled in, prompting him to ask family and friends to go indoors. As he closed the door, he was hit by lightning and rushed to the hospital. Danny survived but lost all memory of the incident, taking three years to fully recover his recollections.

His second lightning strike occurred in 2023, this time inside his home, and remarkably, he required no medical treatment. Danny says the experience fundamentally changed him, granting him a sort of “storm-predicting superpower.” His wife confirms, “He can sense storms days before they arrive and even tell whether it will be a major storm or a minor one.”

Experts note that lightning strikes can temporarily alter a person’s polarity, but Danny claims his own polarity has been permanently changed. Lightning can carry up to 300 million volts, heating the air to 30,000 degrees Celsius in an instant. A strike can vaporize water in the human body, disrupt heart rhythms, and cause fatal injuries. Even indirect strikes, such as those conducted through metal objects or the ground, carry a 10–30% mortality rate.

Danny’s story is extraordinary, highlighting both the destructive power of lightning and its mysterious, lingering effects on the human body — and perhaps, in his case, a new, uncanny connection to the weather.
