A 27-year-old female cook has been arrested by police for allegedly sharing a video of a disabled man, known as Muhammad Zul Apiz Baharum or “Mat Tere,” exposing himself last week.
The suspect was detained in Kuala Lumpur yesterday and is now under four days of remand.
Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said the arrest followed a police report filed by Mat Tere, 37, regarding the viral video.
“The woman works in Kuala Lumpur and is currently under remand. She is expected to be charged tomorrow at the Kota Bharu Court,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 384 of the Penal Code. Previously, Mat Tere’s family urged the public not to exploit him, as he is a person with disabilities, after the video circulated online showing him exposing himself during a TikTok live session at the request of a woman.
