Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande turned a chaotic red carpet moment into one of kindness and compassion.
During the European premiere of Wicked, the stars came to the rescue of a fan named Tricia — known online as Tricia The Angel — after a glass of champagne accidentally spilled all over her during a group photo. The moment was caught on video and has since gone viral on TikTok, amassing over half a million views in less than 12 hours.
Tricia shared that what started as her “most embarrassing moment” became one of the “kindest” experiences of her life. She explained that she had been selected to meet her idols, Grande, 32, and Erivo, 38, and everything was going smoothly until it was time for a group photo. Just as everyone smiled for the camera, someone behind her accidentally tipped over a champagne glass, spilling the drink on her head and shattering the glass.
“As we say ‘cheese,’ the glass spills on my head!” Tricia recalled in her TikTok. In the video, she can be seen gasping as champagne runs down her face and into her eyes. Both Grande and Erivo immediately jumped into action — with Erivo calling for tissues and Grande gently guiding the shaken fan away from the crowd, asking, “Are you okay?”
Tricia said the alcohol mixed with her makeup, causing her eyes to burn. Panicking and unable to see, she suddenly heard a reassuring voice say, “This is Cynthia Erivo — we’re going to find you a chair now, okay? You’re going to be okay.” She later realized that both stars stayed by her side the entire time, helping her calm down and clean up.
“Ariana Grande wiped me clean,” Tricia said, laughing in her video. “They were so sweet and kind — they comforted me through one of the most embarrassing moments of my life.” Grande even joked that they could “cancel the premiere” if Tricia was too upset, teasing, “Yeah, I know a guy.”
Tricia thanked both actresses for their compassion, calling them “as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside.” She ended her video encouraging fans to watch Wicked: Part 2, saying the two stars had truly shown their genuine hearts beyond the spotlight.
