The government has reaffirmed its stance that the media has the right to ask any questions, in line with its commitment to transparency and freedom of expression.
Government spokesperson Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said he conveyed this view during the Cabinet meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof today.
He emphasized that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim himself is always open to receiving questions from the media.
“I made it clear that the Prime Minister is open to any questions, and the government’s position is that journalists have the right to ask whatever they wish,” Fahmi said at a press conference.
