Heavy rain and flooding have claimed 13 lives in central Vietnam, while 11 others remain missing and 34 were injured, according to Vietnam’s Disaster Management Authority, as reported by Xinhua.
More than 116,000 homes are still submerged, with 56 destroyed or swept away by strong currents, and nearly 150 others damaged. The disaster also inundated about 4,900 hectares of rice fields and crops, damaged around 790 hectares of fruit farms, and killed over 17,700 livestock.
Electricity disruptions affected more than 438,000 households across four major provinces and cities.
Meanwhile, Russia has sent 29 tonnes of emergency aid to affected residents in Hue, including tents, blankets, rescue boats, and essential supplies, to help those impacted by the devastating floods.
