Supermodel Heidi Klum, 52, has once again claimed her crown as the Queen of Halloween, debuting a jaw-dropping costume at her annual Halloween bash in New York City on Friday, Oct. 31. This year, Klum transformed into the mythological Medusa, complete with a long tail and animated snakes for hair, hissing at photographers and brandishing a bow and arrow as she posed on the red carpet.
Her husband, Tom Kaulitz, joined the theme as a Greek soldier turned to stone, playing into the myth that anyone who meets Medusa’s gaze is petrified. Despite “being turned to stone,” Kaulitz told PEOPLE he found Klum’s look “sexy,” while Klum called her husband’s costume “super hot.” She shared the moment on Instagram with a playful warning: “HAPPY HEIDIWEEN 🐍 Don’t stare too long or you’ll turn to stone.”
Klum’s elaborate Medusa costume was the result of months of preparation and hours in the makeup chair. She credited makeup designer Mike Marino, a three-time Oscar nominee for The Batman, Coming 2 America, and A Different Man, who also won an Emmy for transforming Colin Farrell into The Penguin.
Klum’s Halloween celebrations in New York mark the 25th anniversary of her star-studded bash, first launched in 2000. The event was paused in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Klum has returned in full, proving once again why she reigns as the ultimate Halloween icon.
