Two Injured In Five Against One Fight As Woman Uses Baseball Bat Outside Hospital

A brawl broke out at a hospital parking lot in Zhushan, Nantou, around 9 a.m., involving two groups in a five-against-one confrontation. During the fight, a woman swung a baseball bat at a man’s head, leaving two people injured.

Police investigations revealed that the man who was attacked and the woman with the bat were divorced. The dispute reportedly began over a disagreement about caring for a sick family member, which escalated into a physical altercation.

The incident occurred at around 8:50 a.m. in the hospital parking lot. According to reports, the man in a gray shirt and others had argued inside the hospital before encountering each other again in the parking area. The tension escalated when pepper spray was used, leading to a chaotic fight.

Eyewitness Mr. Hsieh said, “There were about ten people at the scene. Two were fighting while others either watched or got involved. People were shouting in panic, so we called the police.”

Zhushan Police Substation Chief Lin Wei-zhi confirmed that the individuals involved were a former husband and wife and that the fight likely stemmed from issues related to child care.

Authorities reported that the woman’s current husband also joined the fray. Following the incident, two people were injured and received medical treatment, and both parties have filed assault complaints against each other.
