Woman Dies After Losing Control in Single-Vehicle Crash in Selangau

A 30-year-old woman died yesterday after losing control of her vehicle and crashing into an oil palm tree at Jalan Sekolah Sungai Bawang, Balingian, Selangau.

According to Mukah district police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias, the woman was driving alone from Sekolah Sungai Bawang towards Sibu when her car skidded off the road at around 2.45pm.

“She lost control of her car before it veered off the road and struck an oil palm tree,” DSP Muhamad Rizal said.

The victim was rushed to the Selangau Health Clinic for emergency treatment but was pronounced dead at 4.20pm.

The incident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Authorities have urged anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant information to contact Insp Mohd Rahmat Jalimin at 084-871377.

DSP Muhamad Rizal also confirmed that a separate single-vehicle accident involving a pickup truck occurred at the same location.
