A woman was left alarmed after a swarm of bees chose her car, parked at a parking lot, as their “new home”.
In a post shared on Threads by user Cakewhvtt, she said she discovered the situation when she was about to leave work and head home.
She was shocked to find hundreds of bees gathering around the driver’s side mirror, forming a large hive.
“Out of all the cars, mine is the one they chose. I panicked and didn’t know what to do. Luckily, there was a police officer nearby who helped call the authorities,” she said.
“I left my car there and planned to wait for the fire department or Civil Defence (APM) to handle it, but I had an early morning shift so I went home first,” she added.
In a later update the following morning, she said the bees were believed to have been removed using a special spray by the authorities.
“However, there were still a few bees flying around my car. I’ll need to get it cleaned later,” she said.
The incident also drew concern from social media users, with many advising caution in handling such situations.
Some suggested that instead of exterminating the bees, a proper bee rescue or relocation team should be called to safely move them, as bees play an important role in the ecosystem.
