A recent post on Chinese social media has gone viral after a job seeker shared her unexpected experience following an interview.
According to the post, after attending an interview at a company in Guangdong during a period of continuous heavy rain, she received a heartfelt thank-you letter from the company. The letter not only expressed appreciation for her time but also included a warm reminder to be careful on slippery roads due to the ongoing storms across the province.
To her surprise, the company also enclosed a 50-yuan cash transport allowance for each interviewee.
The job seeker wrote that such gestures were something she had only seen online before and never expected to experience herself. “It’s not a lot of money, but it’s truly heartwarming,” she said. “Even if I’m not hired, this will make me happy for the whole day.”
The act has been widely praised by netizens, with many calling it the “gold standard” of interview etiquette and remarking on how rare and valuable genuine kindness is in today’s job market.
