‘Lost My Appetite’: Woman Claims Parents Let Children Urinate at Supermarket Entrance

Date:

A woman’s routine grocery trip in Selangor was abruptly disrupted after she witnessed an incident at a supermarket that left her feeling disturbed and upset.

The incident was shared by Threads user Sara Salim, who uploaded a video capturing what she claimed to have seen during her visit.

In her post, Sara said she had gone to the supermarket in the morning to shop for groceries and plan meals for the weekend. However, her plans quickly changed after she encountered what she described as an unhygienic scene near the store’s entrance.

According to Sara, two women were seen lifting their young children — estimated to be about three or four years old — and allowing them to urinate into a rubbish bin located near the entrance of the supermarket. She said the sight immediately made her feel nauseated and angry.

“I lost my appetite instantly,” she wrote, adding that the incident made it difficult for her to continue thinking about food preparation.

Sara said she spent less than ten minutes inside the supermarket after that. Instead of completing her grocery shopping, she only picked up a few items requested by her child before leaving the premises.

She shared that the experience left her shaken and frustrated, turning what was meant to be a simple errand into an unpleasant ordeal.

The post drew widespread reactions online, with many users saying they could sympathise with her discomfort. Some questioned why the parents did not take their children to a restroom, while others criticised the behaviour as inappropriate in a shared public space.

Several commenters encouraged Sara to report the matter to supermarket or mall management. She later confirmed in the comments that the incident had been reported.

The video has since continued to circulate on social media, prompting renewed discussions about hygiene and appropriate behaviour in public places.
