Taiwan Company Goes Viral After Giving Every Employee an iPhone 17 Pro Max

Date:

A corporate annual dinner in Taiwan went viral after it emerged that every employee in attendance received an iPhone 17 Pro Max, with no lucky draw or selection process involved.

The announcement was displayed on a large screen during the event, reading: “Employee gift reveal! iPhone 17 Pro Max – thank you for your contribution.” Staff were required to present valid employee identification to collect the phones.

According to Nanyang Siang Pau, an event worker said around 200 people were present, while other attendees estimated that more than 20 tables were set up, with about 300 staff members attending the dinner.

UDN Taiwan reported that the event still featured a lucky draw, with a top cash prize of NT$101,000 (about RM12,950). However, many attendees said the phones overshadowed all other prizes and activities.

News of the giveaway quickly spread on social media, with many netizens initially assuming the iPhones were part of a high-end lucky draw. Reactions turned to disbelief after it was confirmed that every employee received one.

Comments online described the gesture as one of the most generous year-end rewards seen, with some jokingly asking whether the company was hiring. One individual who claimed to be an employee said the crowd erupted in cheers when the announcement was made, even though many had purchased new phones just the year before.

The company’s decision to reward all staff equally with a high-value gift was widely praised online, sparking discussion about meaningful ways employers can show appreciation to their workforce.
