Terrified Cat Leads Woman To Discover Stranger Sneaking Into Her Apartment

Date:

A young woman was left shaken after her pet cat’s unusual behaviour led her to discover CCTV footage showing a stranger climbing into her apartment while she was away.

The 22-year-old property saleswoman, identified only as Ms. A, has since filed a police report and moved out of her apartment, fearing for her safety after the alarming intrusion.

According to police, the incident occurred at a dormitory in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi Province.

Ms. A told investigators she had briefly left her fourth-floor apartment to buy food and returned to find one of her two cats behaving strangely.

The normally active cat was hiding beside her bed and trembling uncontrollably, something she said had never happened before.

Concerned by the animal’s behaviour, she began checking her room and quickly noticed that her indoor CCTV camera had been knocked onto the floor and disconnected from its power source.

When she reviewed the footage, she was horrified to discover a man climbing up a metal fire escape ladder at the rear of the building before entering her apartment through a back window.

The CCTV footage reportedly showed the intruder entering the room at around 6.55pm while Ms. A was out.

As the suspect entered, her two cats were seen panicking and running in different directions. The man then switched on the room lights before the camera recording was disrupted.

Despite entering the apartment, the suspect did not appear to steal any belongings, and Ms. A later confirmed that nothing was missing from the room.

However, the incident left her deeply unsettled.

“I don’t believe he came to steal anything. I think he intended to commit some other crime. Luckily, I wasn’t in the room at the time,” she reportedly told police.

Ms. A said she immediately lodged a police report and provided officers with the CCTV footage, stressing that she had never seen the man before.

Fearing the intruder could return, she contacted her boyfriend’s family and made the decision to move her belongings out of the apartment immediately.

She is now urging authorities to identify and arrest the suspect as soon as possible.

Police have launched an investigation and are reviewing the CCTV footage to track down the man responsible for the break-in.

The case has sparked concern among local residents, with many calling for improved security measures at apartment buildings to prevent similar incidents.
