Travellers heading to Singapore from Sept 30 will be able to complete the enhanced Singapore Arrival Card directly through the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority’s (ICA) mobile app.
The enhanced digital declaration, previously available only through the ICA website, allows travellers to auto-fill their personal information by scanning their passports. It also comes with expanded language options.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook page yesterday, ICA reminded travellers to update their MyICA mobile app to the latest version before submitting their Singapore Arrival Card from Sept 30 onwards.
The update will also be required for motorists and passengers using the app to generate QR codes for passport-free immigration clearance at Singapore’s land checkpoints.
The Singapore Arrival Card is a mandatory electronic health declaration that must be submitted by incoming travellers before arriving in Singapore. The requirement applies to Singapore citizens, permanent residents and long-term pass holders, but excludes transit passengers who do not seek immigration clearance, as well as Singapore residents travelling overland through the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints.
First introduced through the web portal in August, the enhanced Singapore Arrival Card now supports seven additional languages — Bahasa Indonesia, Dutch, Arabic, Spanish, Russian, Filipino and Italian — bringing the total number of supported languages to 19.
Under the updated system, Singapore citizens, permanent residents and long-term pass holders can also scan the biometric page of their passports to automatically populate their details. This supplements the existing option of retrieving information through Singpass, while the passport-scanning feature was previously available only to foreign visitors.
