A touching video reportedly filmed at a cemetery in Liupanshui, Guizhou province, has gone viral online, showing a young girl lying beside the graves of her late grandparents, refusing to leave due to her deep longing for them.
According to Beijing Daily, the child’s grandfather and grandmother passed away within six months of each other, leaving the girl devastated by the loss of the two people who had raised her since childhood.
The girl’s father said his daughter had been primarily cared for by the grandparents since young, as he was often busy with work while his wife’s health was not strong.
He explained that the grandmother passed away five months ago, followed by the grandfather about 20 days ago due to a heart condition, leaving the child emotionally affected by both losses in a short period.
In the viral footage, the girl reportedly insisted on visiting the cemetery and refused to leave after arriving, choosing instead to remain by the gravesite and even sleep beside the tombstones.
The emotional scene has drawn widespread sympathy online, with many netizens expressing sorrow over the child’s grief and the strong bond she shared with her grandparents.
