A woman has claimed that she discovered a cockroach in a packet of nasi lemak she purchased from a food outlet in Kota Masai, Johor.
In a social media post on Threads, the woman said she had bought the nasi lemak with sambal paru for her friend, only to realise there was a foreign object in the meal after it had already been partially consumed.

She said the discovery came as a shock, adding that the food appeared freshly prepared but raised concerns over hygiene standards at the premises.
The woman also expressed disappointment and said she would not be returning to the eatery again.
A friend who commented on the post said she felt unwell after the incident and had experienced vomiting after consuming the meal, describing the situation as distressing.
The post quickly drew attention online, with other users sharing similar experiences at the same area and food outlet.
Some commenters claimed they had previously encountered issues such as spoiled food and poor hygiene conditions, while others urged the complainant to report the matter to the Health Ministry for further action.
The incident has since sparked wider discussion on food safety and hygiene standards at small eateries, with netizens calling for increased monitoring by authorities.
