A woman has taken to social media to express her frustration after allegedly discovering two baby cockroaches in her drink while dining at a Thai restaurant in Kedah.

The incident is said to have occurred on Wednesday at around 5.20pm, when she and her husband were having their meal at the establishment.
In a post shared on Threads, the woman claimed she had already consumed a large portion of the beverage before noticing an unusual aftertaste, which later led her to inspect the drink more closely.
She alleged that upon checking with her husband, they found the insects inside the beverage, prompting them to raise the matter with the restaurant staff.
According to her account, the floor manager referred them to the owner, but she claimed the response received was dismissive and lacked an apology, leading to further dissatisfaction over how the complaint was handled.
She added that while the owner eventually agreed to waive the bill, she remained unhappy with the overall handling of the incident, particularly the alleged lack of professionalism when addressing a food safety concern.
The post quickly went viral, drawing strong reactions from netizens, with some users claiming they had experienced similar hygiene issues at the same restaurant.
One commenter alleged finding foreign objects in other dishes, while another claimed to have spotted cockroaches at the payment counter area, raising further concerns about cleanliness standards.
Following the online backlash, some users reportedly left negative reviews on the restaurant’s Google page and called for health authorities to conduct an inspection of the premises.
