Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and singer-actress Bella Astillah have announced that they will get married on October 10.
The couple revealed the date in an exclusive announcement aired live on the MeleTOP programme on Astro Ria tonight.
“I am grateful to everyone who has continuously prayed for us. We will get married on October 10, with the wedding reception also taking place in the same month. There will also be celebrations in Kuala Lumpur, Muar and Sabah,” Syed Saddiq said on the programme.
Also present during the programme were Syed Saddiq’s parents, Syed Abdul Rahman Syed Abdullah Al-Sagoff and Sharifah Mahani Syed Abdul Aziz.
Syed Saddiq said the wedding ceremony would be held at Merdeka Maybank Tower, one of the world’s tallest buildings.
Speaking about their wedding preparations, Syed Saddiq admitted that the couple had only around 100 days to organise everything.
He said preparations could only begin after he concluded his Federal Court case in July, leaving them with a tight schedule to arrange the various ceremonies.
“I never expected Bella to be able to handle everything. We are both busy with our respective careers, but despite that, Bella has been able to micromanage the wedding preparations.
“She has been working with many parties, not just for one ceremony but several events at different locations. Everything came at once, but she has been very patient,” he said.
Syed Saddiq also acknowledged that he shared some responsibility for the limited preparation time, saying they could only begin planning the wedding after his legal proceedings at the Federal Court concluded in July.
The 33-year-old politician stressed that his marriage to Bella, 31, would not simply be a union between the two of them, but would also bring their families together, including Bella’s children.
The couple became engaged on March 28 in a private ceremony attended by close family members and friends, confirming their relationship after months of public attention.
Their relationship had previously attracted attention after they worked together on several projects, including brand promotional campaigns and charitable initiatives to assist people in Muar.
