Jungkook Reveals One-Meal-A-Day Diet And Secret Routine Behind Solo Hit ‘Seven’

BTS’s Jungkook recently sat down for an in-depth interview and photoshoot with Rolling Stone, published on January 3, where he shared reflections on his career, personal habits, and mindset that keep him motivated.

Jungkook explained that he carefully balances his busy lifestyle to avoid burnout. “When I’m not onstage, I try to keep my mind empty and avoid overthinking. I pour out my inspiration when I’m working on an album or preparing for a performance. But in daily life, I prefer to keep things simple and think in a straightforward way,” he said.

He highlighted his viral solo hit Seven as a significant milestone in his career. “Working on the song Seven felt like the most important and special moment for me. That song is what allowed me to continue working up to now. I really loved Seven and felt confident performing it, but I was still surprised by how well it was received. That reaction gave me even more confidence,” Jungkook shared.

His success with Seven has motivated him to keep pushing forward. “After releasing my solo album GOLDEN, there were things I wished I had done better – both in the songs and the performances. But those regrets are what motivate me to work harder and improve. Rather than repeating the same kinds of performances or similar songs, I’m trying new things and continuing to evolve so I can show different sides of myself,” he said.

Jungkook also offered fans a glimpse into his preparations for BTS’s comeback, revealing that he is currently focused on losing weight. “These days, I’m on a diet and only eat one meal a day. I really look forward to that one meal. I find myself thinking, ‘What should I eat today?’ and waiting patiently. When I finally eat, I feel a sense of achievement.”

He is also emphasizing exercise and a healthier lifestyle. “I’ve been doing a lot of physical activities like badminton, bowling, and jogging. My attitude toward time has shifted—I try to avoid things that are bad for my body. I used to drink, but now I’m trying to refrain from it. I want to use my time meaningfully and cherish it. Doing something consistently, even if it’s small, is more important than making a big effort once. Every morning before I shower, I do some cardio, and I do the same thing before bed. That routine changes the way I approach people, food, and life. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and confidence because I stuck to my routine for the day.”
