Kim Kardashian never imagined a bit of fake fuzz would steal the internet’s attention. The reality star and business mogul recently found herself at the center of viral chaos after her brand, SKIMS, dropped its latest—and most eyebrow-raising—creation yet: a G-string featuring faux pubic hair.
Speaking to E! News’ Erin Lim Rhodes at the Oct. 16 premiere of her new Hulu series All’s Fair, Kim laughed about the unexpected buzz. “I’m shocked,” she said. “It got so much attention—we’ve been laughing and talking about it all day long.”
The daring design, released Oct. 14 and dubbed SKIMS’ “most daring panty yet,” was unveiled on Kim’s Instagram Story with her signature cheeky humor: “How funny are these? We have different colors, different hair. This is insane. SKIMS, baby.”
According to Kim, the idea came from a playful photoshoot and wasn’t meant to be taken too seriously. “It was just a fun, silly idea,” she explained, noting that SKIMS isn’t the first brand to experiment with such designs.
But while she’s making headlines for her bold underwear, Kim’s also gearing up for her next big role—literally. In All’s Fair, premiering Nov. 4 on Hulu, Kim stars as lawyer Allura Grant alongside powerhouse actresses Sarah Paulson, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash, Teyana Taylor, and Glenn Close.
“I got a lot of inspiration from Laura Wasser, who’s my family law attorney,” Kim said. “It was so important to have someone I could channel and feel connected to. Laura’s such a badass woman who takes care of other women.”
Filming with Hollywood veterans was a crash course in acting for Kim. “I love these women,” she gushed. “We learned so much together. Watching them work every day was the best lesson I could have learned.”
As for how she prepped for the role, Kim kept it simple: “I just said, ‘All I have to do is make sure I’m prepared, know my lines, show up on time—and watch and learn from them.’”
Because whether it’s law school or lingerie, Kim Kardashian always finds a way to keep the world talking.
