Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh is set to attend the Bukit Bintang lighting ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on January 3, the Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming confirmed today. The event is part of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.
Nga said Yeoh will be joined by her husband, Jean Todt, the former CEO of Ferrari, and that the ceremony is a joint effort by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, Tourism Malaysia, and Kuala Lumpur City Hall.
“Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will officiate the event, which will be broadcast live on RTM,” Nga added.
The evening’s programme will feature the inaugural Bukit Bintang Parade with 20 contingents, performances by singer Faizal Tahir, interactive activities with “Abang Sado Bomba,” fireworks, and cultural performances by Istana Budaya.
The ceremony will take place in front of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and is open to the public.
