Biduanita Negara Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza has added another milestone to her illustrious career after being awarded an Honorary Master of Arts in Creative Arts and Media (Honoris Causa) by Sunway University on Thursday.
According to the university, the honorary degree recognises Siti’s outstanding contributions, lasting impact and remarkable journey in Malaysia’s arts and creative industry over the past three decades.
“Congratulations to Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin on receiving the Honorary Master of Arts in Creative Arts and Media in recognition of her exceptional contributions and inspiring journey in the arts and creative industry.
“It is truly a memorable moment,” the university said in an Instagram post.
The award was presented during Sunway University’s convocation ceremony, where Siti donned the academic regalia before receiving the honorary degree from the university’s Chancellor, Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah.
The announcement was met with an outpouring of congratulatory messages from fans and netizens, many of whom said the singer was a deserving recipient in view of her achievements and contributions to the local entertainment industry spanning more than 30 years.
In November last year, Siti was also appointed as an Adjunct Professor in Entrepreneurship at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) for a two-year term effective from 15 October 2025 to 15 October 2027.
Prior to that, she was appointed as an industry expert at the University of Malaya Centre for Continuing Education (UMCCed) for a two-year period.
