South Korea’s Big Four K-Pop Agencies Plan Global Festival ‘Fanomenon’

Date:

South Korea’s four largest K-pop agencies—SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, JYP Entertainment and Hybe—are reportedly preparing to launch a joint venture to create a large-scale global music festival tentatively named “Fanomenon,” a combination of the words “fan” and “phenomenon.”

JYP Entertainment confirmed to local media OSEN that discussions are underway with South Korea’s Presidential Committee on Popular Culture Exchange to establish a public-private partnership aimed at expanding the global reach of K-culture.

The company said the four agencies are still in the early stages of planning and discussions, noting that the project requires industry-wide collaboration rather than individual corporate efforts. Details such as the final structure and operations have yet to be finalised.

The joint project has also reportedly been submitted to the Korea Fair Trade Commission for regulatory review, as it involves a major collaboration between leading entertainment companies.

If approved, the “Fanomenon” festival is targeted to debut in South Korea in December 2027, with plans to expand into major international cities starting in 2028.

The concept was first introduced by Park Jin-young during the launch of the cultural exchange committee in October 2025. It envisions a large-scale global festival designed to unite K-pop fans worldwide and potentially rival major international music events such as Coachella.

Collectively, the four agencies represent some of the biggest names in the K-pop industry, managing globally recognised acts including BTS, Blackpink, EXO, Twice and Seventeen.
