Malaysia’s renowned comedian Douglas Lim is set to bring his latest stand-up comedy special, Vital Stats, to Miri this June, offering audiences a night filled with sharp wit, observational humour and personal storytelling.
The show, which forms part of his nationwide tour, will be staged at the Curtin University Malaysia auditorium on June 12 at 8pm, marking one of the key stops in the multi-city comedy series.
In a wider entertainment context, live comedy performances continue to gain strong traction across Malaysia, with audiences increasingly drawn to relatable storytelling and localised humour delivered through stand-up formats.
Speaking in a phone interview with The Borneo Post, Lim said Vital Stats draws heavily from his personal journey across theatre, television and film, blended with reflections on everyday experiences.
He described the production as a comedic narrative of life’s milestones, particularly focusing on growth, ageing and the humorous side of daily situations encountered over the years.
The tour will span six cities nationwide, including Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuching, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, and Miri as one of its featured destinations.
Tickets for the Miri show are priced between RM88 and RM148, with numbered seating arrangements available for audiences.
In addition to the performance, fans will also have the chance to meet Douglas Lim in a post-show meet-and-greet session, where autographs and photos will be part of the experience.
Corporate group bookings of 25 tickets and above are also being accepted via official channels, reflecting strong interest from organisations and community groups.
The event is organised by Hilarity Ensues Sdn Bhd and will run for 90 minutes without an intermission, promising a continuous evening of entertainment and laughter for attendees.
