Wrestling Icon Hulk Hogan Dies at 71

Date:

Legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan, born Terry Gene Bollea, has passed away at the age of 71 following a cardiac arrest at his Florida home. The larger-than-life star rose to fame in the 1980s with the WWF (now WWE), becoming a global icon with his signature blond hair, handlebar moustache, and “Hulkamania” persona. Hogan won six WWE championships and headlined WrestleMania eight times, helping to bring pro wrestling into the mainstream.

His manager confirmed he died surrounded by family. Tributes have poured in from WWE stars, fans, and even former US President Donald Trump, who called Hogan “a great friend” and praised his larger-than-life spirit. WWE called him “one of pop culture’s most recognisable figures.”

Hogan’s influence extended beyond the ring, with acting roles in Rocky III and his own reality show Hogan Knows Best. Though his career faced controversies, his legacy as a wrestling legend remains.

He will be remembered as a true icon of the sport.
