According to the Sarawak government’s official website, the second phase of the 2026 Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance (SKAS) will begin disbursement on May 15, with eligible recipients set to receive the aid via the S PAY GLOBAL e-wallet.
Under this phase, households earning below RM5,000 per month will receive RM424, while senior citizens without spouses are entitled to RM234. Single individuals with a monthly income not exceeding RM2,500 will receive RM150.
The state government had earlier announced an increase in SKAS assistance amounts to help ease financial pressure amid rising living costs and global economic challenges.
Following the revision, total annual aid for households has been raised from RM950 to RM1,100. Single senior citizens will now receive RM600 instead of RM500, while single individuals’ assistance has been increased from RM300 to RM375.
The 2026 SKAS payments are being distributed in three phases, with the first already paid out on March 10, the second scheduled for May 15, and the final phase set for November 10.
